The Saturn Aura midsize sport sedan was the 2007 North American Car of the Year. For 2008, Saturn expands on the Aura theme by adding an economical model for buyers who want the increased fuel efficiency of a four-cylinder engine under the hood. The new base XE features GM's 2.4-liter dual overhead cam Ecotec inline four-cylinder that produces 170 horsepower.
In addition to the new four-cylinder XE, the 2008 Aura lineup contains two well-equipped V-6 models, XE with a 224-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 using a four-speed automatic transmission, and XR with a 252-horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6 mated to a six-speed automatic. The Aura Green Line, a 2.4-liter Ecotec-based hybrid introduced in 2007, is an efficient, yet affordable hybrid passenger sedan.
The Aura's distinctive headlamps' jewel-like appearance and the chrome grille bar are signature styling elements that have helped establish Saturn's new design language.
The Saturn Aura's driving character is enhanced with GM's StabiliTrak electronic stability control system on XE V-6 and XR models. The Aura is built on a stiff, robust chassis that serves as the foundation for an engaging driving experience. Its long wheelbase provides a smooth ride, while careful tuning of the suspension system provides sharp response to driver input.
