The 2008 Chevy HHR's high roof evokes the look of the 1949 Chevy Suburban, with other cues carrying Chevy elements, such as the bold bowtie grille badge and round taillamps, reminiscent of earlier Corvettes.
The Chevy HHR small sport utility with its range of configurations greets the 2008 model year with critical acclaim and federal recognition for its safety features.
Since its launch, HHR has received five-star crash ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's New Car Assessment Program.
New features and revisions for 2008 add to HHR's safety story, including StabiliTrak electronic stability control system, tire pressure monitoring system and OnStar now standard on all models. Other changes enhance HHR's value and style, including new 16-inch wheels.
Also, a new, solid rear quarter panel option enables the customized look of the unique HHR Panel, but with a full, five-passenger interior environment.
Two engines power HHR models: a 2.2-liter four-cylinder, or a 2.4-liter four-cylinder, generating 172 horsepower. The motors mate to a five-speed manual, or a four-speed automatic transmission.
The basic four-door HHR is offered in three trim levels: LS; 1LT; and 2LT. The panel version of the HHR offers the same trims.
