For 2008, the Dodge Nitro adds a Trailer Sway Control System and ParkSense Rear Park Assist System to its long list of safety and security features. The performance-oriented, 4.0-liter, single-overhead-cam V-6 in the Nitro R/T provides 260 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 265 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,200 rpm. It is an enhanced version of the 3.5-liter engine used in prior Chrysler Group vehicles. The 3.7-liter V-6 produces 210 horsepower at 5,200 rpm and 235 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,000 rpm.
