The new-for-2010 Outlander GT showcases a fresh combination of seven-passenger luxury and road holding control. Occupying the top tier in the Outlander family, the Outlander GT uses premium materials and advanced features for an upscale feel.
The Outlander GT wears a distinctive jet fighter front grille, evoking the sporty history of Mitsubishi's line-up. Backing up those looks is the addition of a Lancer Evolution-inspired lightweight aluminum roof, which helps lower the center of gravity.
The blacked out front bumper cover design is also similar to what is found on the Lancer Evolution model. Accenting the new face are the redesigned side sills, rear bumper, mirrors and 18-inch alloy wheels. A unique flap fold tailgate design allows easy access to the rear storage area for loading and unloading.
Inside, the Outlander GT displays a premium feel with a change to stitched synthetic leather on the dashboard and upper front and rear door trims. Chrome accents surround the air outlet knobs and automatic climate control dials. A new high contrast multi-color LCD instrument display enhances visibility and the sporty feel of the Outlander GT.
The Outlander GT receives a revised 3.0-liter V6 engine, teamed with a six-speed Sportronic automatic transmission. Powered by an updated MIVEC-equipped V6 engine, the Outlander GT offers greater power without sacrificing fuel economy. By improving the intake efficiency and raising the compression ratio, Mitsubishi engineers have managed to push output to 230 hp at 6,250 rpm and 215 lb.-ft. of peak torque at 3,750 rpm.
